Last month our owners Roody and Jessica Senecal headed over to Borough Hall to join Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and celebrate Brooklyn Yoga Day. There, Roody had a chance to speak along side Mr. Adams, emphasizing the importance of yoga at any age, in any condition. Standing amidst other yoga studios and teachers, Roody spoke to creating a yoga practice right for you.
His message of solidarity inspired our studio family to launch a new initiative: Bikram Yoga First Fridays. Beginning in November, Bikram Yoga Park Slope will host a community yoga class the first Friday of each month, followed by a get together of food and drinks where we can share time off the mat. All proceeds from class will go to a partnering nonprofit. Our first class on November 7th will begin at 7 pm at our newest studio space: Prospect Park – Lefferts Gardens.
We are reaching out now to nonprofits, and would love your input! Please tell us via Facebook or Twitter about your favorite nonprofit. We want to support those groups that are important to you, so that together we can grow the love in Brooklyn, one posture at a time.
With love and gratitude, we look forward to hearing your thoughts and seeing you on the mat this fall!
