Flexibility is not just physical.
There’s mental, spiritual and life flexibility as well.
Sure, I can reach my toes and touch my head to my knees.
But the capacity to respond flexibly to what the world hurls at me? The ability to democratically entertain ideas completely contrary to my own? And the patience to sit quietly next to someone I want to strangle with a rusty strand of barbed wire?
That requires a completely different kind of flexibility, all of which I attribute to yoga.
