…that night, for the first time in 2 1/2 years I slept thru the night and woke up feeling like a different person.
… finding that beautiful balance of challenging yourself while being kind and acknowledging when and where you should stop or slow down is wonderful. It has given me insight into how to self-care in other aspects of my life.
Showing up to class every day and coming face to face with the points of resistance in my body has slowly built up a skill and a tolerance that I find myself able to tap into outside the studio.
Bikram works out the animal in me that is stressed and tense and wants to fight or flee. After 90 minutes my body’s in synch with my mind again, and life can go on.
Although I’ve only been doing Bikram for two years, I feel 20 years younger. Without question I’m healthier, stronger, calmer, more alert, and generally doing better in all aspects of my life. Is all that sweat and stretching the fountain of youth? I wouldn’t have said so when I first began, but now I think it might be!!
I was instantly hooked after one night and now my day doesn’t feel complete without 90 minutes at BYPS. Bikram helps me to avoid “sweating” the small stuff, and for that I am forever grateful!
